About a piece of art

Guernica was painted by Pablo Picasso in 1937. It's an oil painting and It's show the Guernica War. The dramatic scenery includes original and strange persons, animals, and flats in the middle because they're desperate for the war. This type of work is typical realism, an art movement which started in France. the realism sometimes used dark colors and bizarre images. Their work show real scences or landscapes. It's amazing! The Guernica was exhibited in 1937. The government paid fifteen million pounds for the painting.  I really like this painting because it's original and very special.

Write a review of a film

I'd like to recommend a film which I saw recently called War Horse. The film is a drama and the setting is in England during the First World War. The main characters are one horse called Joey and one boy called Albert. Albert is the son of a farmer. His father bought Joey in auction.
The things I like most about the film were the characters and theme of friendship. Some of the scences are memorable because they're really strong and the style and the plot are magnific!. You can watch all the armies, the clothes, all the territory, the feelings of the people...
So all in all, I really like the novel, and thought it has got happy ending. I wouldn't change it. It's a little difficult film to understand because you can not always think of all the feeling of the horse.  I think that the people who rides a horse understands better the film than the people who don't specially ride. Because there are some scences of the horses suffering.

I agree with heyGazza!. I'm diagree with Marky oo2 and Mygirl_Ruby because the online life is a bit stupid. You don't know who is the person who talks to you. And It's a bit dangerous because some people die for a situation. I use the internet every day. But I don't spend a lot of hours in it. i think TV is addictive less than internet because you don't have big serious problems. My friend Carla has an internet addiction. She's I'll!. She spends a lot of time on her computer and she doesn't eat or meet her real friends. It's terrible!. I recommened that people meet and have fun with his real friends.

An envoirment problem

I'm writting because I went to Tarragona with my family last weekend and there were a lot of traffic jam. It was terrible! 

I think there are one ot two reasons of this. Firstly, people aren't responsible enough, so perhaps we need more bicycles and we don't need a lot of cars. the cars, the planes, the buses, the lorries, the hleicopetrs... They all polute a lot!. Secondly, there aren't a lot of bicycles. People always use cars or buses to go to work or the beach. This prodeuces traffic jams. We must do something about this situation. Maybe there is a lot of bicycles, people don't need cars but to do more execrise. Then there isn't traffic jam. I don't knowm but we must definetly do soemthing here if we want a nice world!

2. TV highlights

The highlights of this wekk's TV was definitley the reality show "Oh Happy Day". It was a programme where eight different choirs singing for a jury. At the end of the programme the jury decided which choir to eliminated. 

Channel 6's dramma series: Castle was also worth watching. In Monday episode, the team were investigation a very misterious serial murder. In the end they discovered that murder is a person who they trust. But the murderer disappared. Exciting stuff! 

Fianlly, something which also caught my eye was another reality show: "La Voz". It is a programme where four coaches form a team. This team is sixteen people who sing very well. These fours coaches with teams compete between them. Which coach win "La Voz"?

1.My Best friend

Xantal Toledo and I are friends. Xantal lives in Platja d'Aro. She lives in a big modern. We don't go to the same school but at the weekends we sometimes meet. 

Xantal is thirteen years old. She's small and she's got long brown hair. The good thing about her is that she's very practical, funny and strives to get things. Alhoug she can also be very quite and mean, sometimes. 

Xantal is hapiest when she rides her horse and go shopping. She likes going out with her friends. We love riding our horses going to the country. In the summer we also go swimming in the lake, in the swimming pool or in the sea and like going to  in Kruger's Hotel.

I - Marta? Where are you? What’s happened?

Marta - I was rowing in the sea and I’m lost. I’m near one rock and the weather it’s horrible!

I - Don’t panic! Let’s phone the police!

Marta - Ok, but hurry up! The weather don’t hold very much!

I - Ok,Ok, hang on! I’m sure that someone will come soon.

7. Write a Formal Letter

Dear sir Héctor

I am the trainer of a cycling club in Catalonia, Spain. The name of the club is The Pla Catalbany. I am writing to you because we are planning a tournament and we are looking for sponsors.

The tournament will take in June. Teams and fans from five countries are going to be in Banyoles for this event, and I think that it will be good publicity four your company.

A SURVEY ABOUT YOUR FAVOURITE SPORTS

The Topic of the survey was “Your favourite sports”. My class of twenty-two people did the survey and in general they play sport. These are the results:

Most people his favourite sport is tennis. A lot of people his favourite sport is basketball and football because a lot of famous play football or basquetball. Some people his favourite sport is row, swim or handball. They did this sports are more original than football or basquetball. Finally, two people doesn’t like sports.

5. Biography

  Orlando Bloom 

Orlando Bloom is a British actor. He was born in Canterbury in 1977. When he was a teenager, he went to London and studied at diferents interpretation schools (National Youth Teahtre, British American Academy y Guildhall School of Music and Drama.)

He began as actor in the English series and the London theater.  Bloom's first apperarance on the screen was in the film "Wilde" in 1997. He became famous playing Legolas in the Lord of Ringd film trilogy (2001-2003). Bloom starred opposite Keira Knightley and Johnny deep in the Pirates of Caribbean. others films were Trojan War opposite Brad Pitt, Kingdom of heaven and The Three MUsketeers. His last film is the Hobbit, Peter jackson's three.part prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. 

He loves sport specially paragliding,surfing and snowboarding. 

he was boyfriend of the actress Joanne Morley for a year. Later he was a boyfriend of the actress Kate Bosworth. Now he is married to Miranda Kerr and He has a child.

4. A brave rescue

Te  rescue happened while we were on holiday in Alps las February. It was really amazing and I was lucky to get a photo of it.
I waws lucky to geta a photo of it.
I was with my family and we were skiing on the mountains when we saw one women in front of us. The wowmn was skiing very fast and one sjy slept and went down the mountain. My father went to the women. The women didn't move.
My sister saw one helicopter it flying in the sky. We did signals. The helicopter came down and with one strecher recue the woemn. THey went to the hospital. The women broke one arm and one leg.

3.Memorable Day

I remember my thirteenth birthday in my granparents orchard.

First we went to my family's orchard and all the people had lunch together. After that all the children went to play with my granfather's cats and dogs.

There was my family: my parents, my sister, granparents, my godmather and her husband and her childrens, my cousins, my godfather and my father's friend and his child. It was really funny day and I felt very happy.

MY SCHOOL

My name’s Xènia and I’m at Casa Nostra school in Banyoles. Casa Nostra is a small school – there are boys and girls. There are ten or eleven teachers at the school and there are a lot of different rooms.

I’m interested in science and there is small laboratory for ours of science. There are also exellents teachers Miss Silvia, Miss Ana Vilà and Miss Ana Larroy. But there isn’t a swimming pool here at the Casa nostra school- we go to the club Natació Banyoles for swimming classes.

I love history.I like ICT too, and there are modern computer rooms in our big room!.

MY IDEAL HOME

My ideal home is a rural house in the mountain. It’s big and It’s got everything. It’s got three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and a dining room. My fathers’ bedroomhas got a nice balcony and you can see the stable from it.

On an ideal afternoon in my ideal home we’re all here. My mum is in the living room reading a book. My dad is in the sofa watching the TV.  My sister is in the bedroom, she is playing with her tools. I’m in my bedroom. I am chatting on the internet.

My favourite room is my bedroom. It’s got a comfortable bed and a big computer. I like this room because I can relax and I can chatting on the internet or play computer games.
